From a diary entry by Cha Sha, 2007:
Atheist - Bible - John Paul II (Heaven or Oblivion)
Joan Konner at the end of her book, "The Atheist's Bible" ventures to coin epitaph: "Here lies an atheist, all dressed up and nowhere to go" (almost like driving last nail in the coffin ).I guess, with passing away of John Paul II, is it that Thomas Paine and his likes, perhaps, bothered, not to write any, as such!Given to writing of very short texts - to ensure no dilution of the essence and spirit of explosive stimulation within - my brain spat out odd alphabets splattering the epitaph - unflattering, uncharitable, yet unflinching -
"Here lies John Paul II, waiting to be in the "place", believing his deservedly own, so where would John Paul be, since the "place" is nought.
C. B. Shah, pen name Cha Shah, was born on 30th March, 1938, in India.
Started playing harmonium (like a key board/accordian principle) and singing popular Hindi numbers in 1945 -age 7 years. Listening to any music, would the same register as notations of music, without having to write or efforts for locating their order - genetic/hereditory ! In that sense, classical music came within grasp in natural way. Violin and flute were next to come in another three years. There was, never a formal training in music, and that gave the freedom for exploring unchartered territories of ascendoes and crescendoes fashioned after the spontaneous winds of whims.
Graduated in civil engineering, 1959.Used to participate in University and inter University festivals of music.
Writing as a hobby ran concurrently with hobby of music, as also the trekking and landscape painting. During university tenure as a student, did 5 years stint of military/ infantry and engineering cores.
Since 2007, after having ended his business duties, Cha Shah engages intensively in music playing and literature.
Lifes in Mumbay, India.
