In his review "Ghosts", The New York Review of Books, Volume 55, Number 11 · June 26, 2008, Ian Buruma writes about political prisoners and torture. He quotes a photograph which is shown below and comments analytically on it. See for yourself:
A nice portrait of a nice smiling (or grining?) woman. Working hands in rubber gloves. Housewife? Cleaning person?
A man, obviously hurt, covered by a plastic sheet. A victim of an accident? Lain on a hospital table, ready to be treated?
What does the picture tell? If it's more than thousand words, you have a long story!
